Rock CS 2023 | Rocky Mountain Computer Science Conference for P-12 Educators

Authentically incorporating social emotional learning and creating time for student self reflection can be challenging in a middle school computer science classroom.  Participants will get an inside look at classroom structures that address these issues.  Examples include a beginning of class structure for connection and tier one support, daily journal practices to teach task management and student reflection, and one activity that showcases student personality to create an inclusive classroom environment. During this session teachers will have an opportunity to reflect on their current practice and incorporate a new idea into their own classroom.
